Infectious vaginitis, which includes the three vaginal infections trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, and candidiasis, is a common disorder in women.1 Diagnosis of infectious vaginitis is particularly important in pregnant women. Pregnant women diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis, such as the patient reviewed in this case study, have an elevated risk of preterm labor, preterm rupture of membranes, chorioamnionitis, and postpartum endometritis
